AB 249, the California DISCLOSE Act, is on the move! Senate President pro Tem Kevin de Leon’s Senate Rules Committee scheduled it for its first hearing and vote in the Senate Elections on Tuesday! Now is our best chance ever to strike a major blow against secret money by passing the California DISCLOSE Act to force political ads to show who really pays for them.
Join us to pack the hearing room & to lobby individual legislators — and show them how many people demand an end to ads that mislead voters about who’s behind them!
WHAT: AB 249 Lobby Day & Senate Elections Committee Hearing (or Rally for a Hearing!)
WHEN: Tuesday, August 29. Lobbying: 10am-4pm. Hearing: 1:30pm (arrive by 1:15pm).
WHERE: State Capitol, 1315 10th St, Sacramento, CA 95814. Hearing Rm 3191. Lobby Day meeting place Rm 126 from 10am-1pm, TBD after.
Lobbying Details: We make it easy to lobby key legislators. We give you talking points, tell you how to answer questions, and provide buttons and info packets. Then we break into groups, each with an experienced DISCLOSE Act speaker, and go convince Senators to support the bill!
