Welcome to the Animal Action Art & Writing Contest gallery.

NEW! The 2018 Animal Action Art & Writing Contest is now open!

Get those paintbrushes, markers, crayons and colored pencils ready! Our contest this year is open to students of the fifty (50) United States plus the District of Columbia who are enrolled in pre‐Kindergarten to 12th grade as of February 1, 2018.

IFAW welcomes artwork entries in the form of paintings or drawings inspired by one or more of the animals that IFAW rescues and protects around the world. NEW THIS YEAR—inspired by the United Nations’ decree that the 2018 World Wildlife Day slogan would be, “Big cats: predators under threat”, we will have a special art category just for wild cats!

IFAW also welcomes writing entries that explore the themes “What I Can Do to Help Animals” or “How I Can Help Big Cats and Why They are Important” through poetry, short story, essay, anecdote, memoir or any other creative writing composition.

Deadline for entries is March 10th, 2018 so download the contest Rules » and Entry Form »today.

Thank you to all who have participated in our past year’s contests! We receive drawings, paintings, and writing entries from students of all ages each year. Please click on any of the pictures below to enjoy the inspiring slideshows of our past winning entries.
