Creative Resistance Newsletter #1: March 2014

Creative Resistance Newsletter #1: March 2014

Welcome to the first newsletter of CreativeResistance.org!
We launched three weeks ago and now feature over 350 art posts and 25 news stories.

We were fortunate to be present at the huge anti-fracking rally in Sacramento, March 15. The creativity and artistic expression was tremendous! We took lots of pictures and you can see them on our home page.

What’s happening in your area?
Will you help us amplify the creative uprising?

When you see activist art in action, please send us pictures. Write for our news section about your experiences making a statement with art. Send links to albums, Flickr Streams and video.
Keep making art, writing poetry and making music. And share it with us!

You can help us grow by by sharing our FaceBook posts. Pages now must pay for their posts to be seen by large numbers, but we want the creativity, skill and spirit of these artists with their messages of truth to have as much reach as possible.

Participate in creating our story series:
When Art Gets Arrested(or has a close brush with the law…)

Tell us stories and send photos and video. Police arresting clowns in the act of harassing the Wall Street Bull, cops leading a giant rat away from the anti-Monsanto protest, officers inadvertantly playing a role in your skit when they hilariously handle ridiculous props and characters.

If no art is actually arrested in the incident,
that’s ok too.
At RAFTT’s annual Women’s Day occupation of the town square, the Chamber of Commerce called the cops on us. Officer Friendly showed up and we chatted about kite-making (for the “Fly Kites, Not Drones” action).
Here’s a nice photo of him holding a kite.

Send writing and photos to: info@creativeresistance.org

Below are events and opportunities from our news section.
