From left to right: Abdullah Cömert, Mehmet Ayvalıtaş, Ali İsmail Korkmaz, Berkin Elvan, Ethem Sarısülük, Medeni Yıldırım, Ahmet Atakan, Hasan Ferit Gedik. These 8 young people are killed by the police violence in protests against government in Turkey since last June. The last one, Berkin Elvan was in comma for 269 days and lost his battle last week. He was just 15 years old… In memory of these brave guys I painted their portraits.
The killers are not punished and they are named “heroes” by the prime minister.
