Come and make art, listen to music and hold the vibration of peace, empowerment and much needed change in the world. RAFTT (Radical Art For These Times) will be there from 1 PM – 5 PM. Bring blanket or cusion, snacks/lunch, musical instruments, costumes, face paint, songs, performance and stories to share. Bring your own craft (BYOC) or join in a collaborative art project. Stay with us all day or just drop in for the time you are able. Men may support by bringing flowers.

During Occupy times, and for a couple of years after, women were meeting in Robinson Plaza in Nevada City on March 8, International Women’s Day. We would picnic and work on an activist art project together as well as playing music, hulahooping and decorating the square. It was a casual, fun way to connect, share and work together. Women were occupying the commons and sharing space and time with one another in order to joyfully celebrate our friendships, our activism, and just the fact that we are women. It perhaps harkens back to the way women would gather in pre-industrialized tribal societies to work together and bond.
