Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I’m pleased to announce that my poetry collection, Led from a Distance, has officially been published this week by Louisiana Literature Press.
For those who don’t know, Led from a Distance is a sequence of political poems, an emotional and intellectual response to a culture shaped by years of war and war-mindedness and how that affects individuals and society as a whole. These are subjects I’ve been involved with a long time, both on the page and in life. The collection can now be purchased from the Louisiana Literature Press store online (http://www.louisianaliterature.org/pressstore.php) or from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Led-Distance-Harry-Newman/dp/0945083440) as well as at a small, but growing, number of independent bookstores in New York and, so far, San Diego.
Also this week, to coincide with the official release of Led from a Distance, a literary website called Easy Street is publishing an interview with me as part of their Take Five series. This is a recurring feature of writers discussing writing and process, with a different writer every month or two. I was flattered they wanted to include me.
