On may 22nd 2017 a group of dedicated activists converged on the Monsanto biotech seed research facility in woodland intent on shutting it down. We have held these shutdowns multiple times over the years, but this time was different.
As people took positions to block the driveway, officers immediately moved to call our assembly unlawful. Within 20 minutes of us arriving 10 people (the #Monsanto10) were arrested, marking the first time we’ve had arrests at one of our shutdowns..
On August 22nd they go to court! Please join us at the yolo county courthouse to make some noise, and make it known that the #Monsanto10 do not stand alone! Feel free to bring signs, banners, chalk etc.
