Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I’m very pleased to announce that Led from a Distance, a collection of my poetry, is being published this coming January by Louisiana Literature Press, a small university press, as part of their chapbook series. I’m also excited by the cover, which features a painting by contemporary German artist Sabine Moritz, from her Helicopters series. It’s one of the few times she’s given her approval for her work to be used in this way.
Consisting mainly of political poems, Led from a Distance is an emotional and intellectual response to a culture shaped by years of war and war-mindedness — especially to the slow moral erosion and emotional deadening that comes with it and the necessity of pushing against it.
The chapbook will be available through the Louisiana Literature website, www.louisianaliterature.org, on Amazon.com, and various literary and poetry bookstores in New York and around the country. I also hope to schedule some readings when it comes out, but will know more about those as the release date gets closer.
