Poem: Sacred Doula

Poem: Sacred Doula

Dave Warren

….. What’s this, from the sacred womb,
long abandoned, barren, un-fecund…
Earthlings reaching for some green indigenous cathexis…..
seminal and germinal seed crucibled again,
feeling a quickening of remembering blood.
to be born consciously,
as a tap root sounding for depth, water, earth anchoring, nutrients,
our own umbilical weaving through the roots,
reaching again for some birthing song,
the first yawp of our infancy,
thrown out upon the moist, fleshen flanks..
of GAIA..
