He fascinates and terrifies us.
He asymmetrically moves history forward (and backward) when superpowers react to him.
The media puts his “greatest hit” videos into heavy rotation to provide us our daily minutes of hate and
we fanatically obsess on his fanaticism.
Our obsession empowers him as we turn our private nightmares into public enemies.
We build him up to mythic status while longing to tear him down and destroy him and move onto the next superstar
to distract us from the banalities of our own existence.
If we can only kill him, we will finally be rid of all evil in the world, outside of us and within us.
