Upcoming Concert

Upcoming Concert

Davis Rovics

– Artist’s Website –

Friends and comrades,

In case you missed the announcement a week ago…

I’ll be welcoming in the new year with a concert in my living room. It will be broadcast live on my Periscope channel. If you’re in the Portland area and you’d like to attend the show in person, please email me at david@davidrovics.com for info like my address, etc.

The concert is free, and open to the public, both on Periscope and in my living room.Donations are very happily accepted, however, and all donations will go towards my upcoming Punk Baroque album.

The show will start on time at 2 pm Oregon time — that’s 5 pm in New York, 10 pm in London, 11 pm in Copenhagen — on January 1st. (Note: if you click on the link for my Periscope channel now you’ll just see stuff that was saved from prior broadcasts. You have to visit the channel at show time to see the show…)

This will be the first official gig of my 2017 Punk Baroque World Tour, and it will feature a whole bunch of original songs no one has ever heard before (outside of my immediate family) — such as “1848,” “Oklahoma, 1917,” and “Don’t Kill Your Landlord” — as well as punk baroque renderings of various other songs that you might have heard before (but might or might not recognize in their new form), such as “East Tennessee,” “Cordova,” and “Which Side Are You On?”

Please feel free to tell folks about this event — share, send invitations, write enthusiastic emails and social media posts, make phone calls, knock down doors, etc.! Here’s the Facebook Event page.

If you’re wondering why Periscope, it’s because it works better than any of the other livestreaming services/apps as far as I have found. If you’re wondering how I plan to see comments and questions and such on Periscope while I’m doing the show, I will assign a willing volunteer in my living room with the task of watching the show on a screen, and informing me and everyone else in the room of what transpires on it — so it will be a fully interactive (more or less) experience, for those of you watching from afar who want to say anything, send hearts, etc.

Hope to see you in my living room or in cyberspace on New Year’s Day!

David

P.S. I wrote a 2016 Year In Review blog post, summarizing 2016 from my particular vantage point, for anyone interested.
