We created this enormous positive people-power puppet and hung signs all over her that said “I am a student.” “I am a mother.” “I am a worker.” “I am unemployed.” etc.
We also made a “boat” that is “rowed,” with “Oarganize Community” oars, by 6 people. They walked inside the boat, holding up the sides with shoulder straps.
This ensemble was first brought to the Nevada City Mardi Gras Parade, but it also appeared at the 2012 May Day demonstration in downtown San Francisco.
