The #NoLameDuck Uprising officially launched this week!
The White House is planning to send TPP legislation to Congress this fall after the elections and during the Lame Duck session. The lame duck is typically a time when unpopular laws are passed.
We are organizing now to stop it. We need thousands of people to say that they are willing to take action leading up to and during the lame duck. We need teams of people willing to call Congress, social media teams to spread the word, local action brigades and people willing to come to DC.
So far, twenty organizations and more than 60 people have joined the #NoLameDuck Uprising. Let’s keep the momentum growing. Click here to sign up now.
We need your help to spread the word about the #NoLameDuck Uprising. Invite any organization that you are part of to endorse it. You’ll find flyers and sign up sheets on the website that you can download, print and take to any events you attend. The TPP impacts everyone, so everyone should know about it.

May Day Rally and March in DC – we’re organizing a “Stop TPP” contingent. Sunday, May 1 starting at 2 pm in Malcolm X Park and marching to the White House. Click here for the Facebook page.
March for a Clean Energy Revolution – we’re also organizing a “Stop TPP” contingent in the march being held during the Democratic National Convention. It will be July 24 in downtown Philadelphia. Click here for the Facebook page.
More actions you can take to stop the TPP:
1. Keep the pressure on your member of Congress, especially if they voted for Fast Track. Click here to find out how your House Representative or Senator voted (note that the bill is not called fast track because Congress attached the fast track bill to another bill). You can contact them through the Congressional switchboard at 202 224 3121 or plan a local action at their office. They will be in their home districts the first week of May.
2. Make your community TPP-Free. You can also pass a resolution making your town, city, county or state a “TPP-Free Zone.” Click here for more information on how to do that.
3. Spread the word to others. Join the Tuesday night Twitter storms at 9 pm Eastern/6 pm Pacific. Click here for more information. You can also gather some friends to hand out leaflets. Presidential candidate rallies are a great place to reach hundreds of people waiting in line to get in. Candidates who oppose the TPP are Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Jill Stein. You’ll find flyers on the Tools for Education page.
