Corporate media headlines continue to paint a dismal picture for our future – police violence, water contamination, war, environmental destruction, government corruption and more. We know that these societal problems cannot be addressed through charity alone – we must build long-term democratic and community-controlled solutions. To this end, Liberty Tree continues to help support the emergent democracy movement through our work:
Democracy Convention 2017
Democracy Convention
We are in the beginning stages of planning the third Democracy Convention, scheduled for the Summer of 2017. The Democracy Conventions support the larger democracy movement by bringing together ten extraordinary conferences uniting activists campaigning for democracy in different parts of our society, from global democracy to earth democracy, democratized education to democratized defense, media democracy to economic democracy, constitutional reform to race and democracy, community democracy to representative democracy.

The Next System Teach-Ins
Liberty Tree is proud to be partnering with the Next System Project to plan and promote “next system” teach-ins at college campuses around the country. To learn more about the history of teach-ins and their effect on mass organizing in the U.S. from Liberty Tree’s president, Ben Manski, click here.

Are you affiliated with a campus that would like to host a teach-in between April 22 and May 1? Register as a host and share this opportunity to support democracy with individuals and organizations who are interested.
Global Climate Convergence
Earth Day to May Day 2016
The Global Climate Convergence Earth Day to May Day campaign this year is calling for a focus on radical action and systematic change powered by the people April 22 – May 1, connecting the dots between fronts of struggle and building up to a People’s Climate Strike. As 2015 illustrated, humanity is under assault not only in terms of climate, but across the spectrum of economy, ecology, peace and democracy. It’s time to take our new-found power and move from collective symbolism to collective action!
