Fourth Friday films presents the film “Good Kill” on Friday July 22, 7:00 p.m. which depicts a dramatic expose of the US drone warfare program. Written and directed by Andrew Niccol (“Gattaca,” “The Truman Show”) with information garnered from actual drone pilots “Good Kill” is a critique of remote-control warfare, which has transformed the ugly reality of battlefield carnage into a video game whose casualties are pixels on a screen. The film stars Ethan Hawke in a powerful performance. The killing is real, and yet it isn’t. Thought-provoking and timely, Good Kill is a modern war movie with a troubled conscience. The film brings into the light the realities of psychological harm visited on our soldiers by this remote style of combat, and the devastation to people on the ground.
