We Are Why
After all the seasons have passed
and Earth died of old age
and Sun lost its fire
When the songs of earthlings are no longer sung
and the shadows of dreams drift unrecognized
and hope has become the scent of a blossom
on an island in the sea of a planet
circling a star in a yet to be born galaxy
I will recall this love as though it were the first
the only possible in all time and space
and know somehow this is true
everywhere and always
